Pancreatic Cancer Signs
By Joe Semonelli
When the symptoms do start showing themselves, they are often very non specific and can often be mistaken for symptoms of another disease.
Jaundice. This condition manifests itself as a distinct yellowing of both the skin and eyes. The condition is caused when an increased level of bilirubin is present in the bloodstream. This can occur if a tumor either totally or partially blocks the bile duct, decreasing the flow of necessary bile.
Abdominal Pain. This is a common sign, but is so non specific, and a symptom of so many other diseases that most doctors do not immediately consider pancreatic cancer, which is fairly rare as a diagnosis for a patient with abdominal pain.
Unintended Weight Loss. Rapid weight loss is a common symptom amongst patients, as it is for many other types of cancer.
Nausea/Vomiting. Another common sign, and another vague and non specific symptom, again demonstrating why this disease is so hard to catch in the early stages.
Loss of Appetite. This of course is another instance where this kind of symptom can indicate so many other diseases.
Sudden Onset of Diabetes. In certain cases, a pancreatic cancer tumor may impede the organ's ability to produce insulin, the result of which is the onset of diabetes.
Changes In Bowel Movements and Urine. Any or all of these symptoms can be a pancreatic cancer sign, however only your doctor can tell for sure.
